Anambra State Government has taken delivery of bags of rice that would be distributed to Anambra State civil servants, for the Yuletide.


The State Head of Service, Barrister Harry Uduh, who received the bags of rice on behalf of the state government, said it was in continuation of the fulfillment of the present administration’s promise since assumption of office.


In line with the agricultural revolution programme of Governor Willie Obiano to empower local farmers through off taking and consumption of their produce state government has started off taking of rice from farmers which will be distributed to workers in the state for Christmas celebration.


Receiving the twenty-five kilogram Anambra Rice at the Jerome Udorji Secretariat, Awka, Barrister Uduh noted that the distribution of the rice will commence today, twentieth of November, 2019 and disclosed that the state government had finalized every financial arrangement to pay leave allowance on the fifth of December while December salaries will be paid on fifteenth day of December 2019 among other entitlements to the state civil servants.


Receiving a bag of rice, a Civil Servant Mrs Ogoamaka Uzozie commended Governor Obiano for his kind gesture to enable workers to enjoy Christmas celebrations and prayed for God’s immense blessings upon him . She applauded the Governor’s heavy investment in agriculture, which according to her had recorded tremendous improvement in production capacity of rice and other produce.
