Awka Community has dissociated itself from the calculated campaign of calumny by some miscreants against the present administration in the State.
In a resolution reached after a recent Izu Awka, at the site of the new Awka Civic Centre under construction near the Temporary Stadium in Awka, the community described as malicious the rumours making the round that the Obiano administration has sold the Awka Temporary stadium complex to a private developer.
The community, called on members of the public to discountenance such rumours, which is targeted at making the people of Awka and the State government to be at logger heads.
The community described the Obiano administration as one with human face in view of its programmes and policies aimed at improving the living standards of the people.
It listed massive road construction across the State, the three fly-over bridges in Awka Metropolis in addition to opening up all the intercity roads in Awka as clear indication that Governor Willie
Obiano is a servant leader.
The Community while congratulating Governor Obiano on the landslide victory of his party APGA in the just concluded House of Assembly elections assured him that the people of Awka are solidly behind his administration.
The resolution which was jointly signed by the traditional ruler of Awka Obi Gibson Nwosu and the President-General of Awka Development Union Nigeria, Sir Anthony Okechukwu, called on the people to always support government programmes and policies for enhanced development of
the State.
