The technology-driven and rejigged Personnel Operational Positioning on the anti-crime approach of the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, has continued to thwart criminal endeavors of gunmen in the state, as Police in Aguata rescued an abducted victim and recovered his sky-blue Toyota Camry vehicle.

 

 

 

A statement by the Anambra State Police Public Relations, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the officers responded swiftly when they got report at about four-thirty in the evening on Wednesday of the abduction along Umuchiana village, Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area.

 

 

 

It was gatherer that during the hot chase by the Police team, the criminals shoved the victim out of the vehicle at Ndike village in Orumba North Local Government Area and drove off for escape.

 

 

 

The Police Officers sustained the trail on the abductors and the criminals abandoned their vehicle along Umunze road, Orumba South Local Government Area and ran into a nearby bush. Operations are still ongoing for possible arrest of the hoodlums, according to the police statement.

 

Meanwhile, the victim was said to have been debriefed and reunited with his family.

 

 

 

The State Commissioner of Police, while hailing the gallantry performance displayed by the police operatives, assured Ndi Anambra that the Police and other security agencies will do everything within the law to ensure they deny criminals the opportunity to foment troubles and re-group anywhere in the state
