The Director-General, of the South East Governors’ Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife has inaugurated Chief Ochendo Obiegbunam and General Hospital Nri road, for use as part of efforts to enhance community development through improved road network.

 

The one-kilometer road facilitated by Senator Ekwunife, traverses Agulu-Enugwu-Ukwu-Nri General Hospital route and was inaugurated alongside community leaders and stakeholders.

with two side drainages, the road serves as a crucial link connecting various villages within the town.

 

During the ceremony, Senator Ekwunife reiterated her commitment to advancing Nri community’s development agenda, pledging further initiatives to improve road networks, including the reconstruction of the Anyafuijiji road Nise to Nri and other vital areas.

Highlighting the significance of the project, Senator Ekwunife said it will help in reducing gridlock around Eke Nri and facilitating easier access to residential areas for residents.

 

She restated her dedication to youth empowerment initiatives aimed at checking restiveness within the community.

Chief Kelvin Obiegbunam, the Past President General of Nri Community, after whom the road was named, commended Senator Ekwunife for her role in realizing the road project, noting its immense importance in addressing the community’s transportation challenges.

 

 

On their parts, the President-General of the Town, Chief Romanus Okafor and a member of the community , Chief Felix Enuoli expressed gratitude to Senator Ekwunife for her role in facilitating the construction of the road, describing her as one passionate to addressing the pressing needs of their community and fostering positive development initiatives.

 

Also, a stakeholder in the community, Chief Patrick Egolum and the youth leader of the town, Mr. Nonso Jideobi highlighed the importance of the road in connecting their community to vital resources and opportunities.
