It was a celebration of a life well spent while alive as the Nwangwu family of Obinagu Ire village Obosi Idmili North council area rolled out their drums in celebration of the eightieth-year birthday anniversary of their mother, Mrs. Joan Chikanene Nwangwu.

 

The ceremony which featured during the Ito Ogbo Obosi 2024, attracted relations, family members, Friends, associates including friends of a son of the celebrant, Mr. Ifunanya Nwangwu.

 

Activities heralding the eightieth birthday celebration of Mrs. Nwangwu commenced at the Ito Ogbosi field where all the celebrants numbering one hundred and twenty converged to be honoured, accompanied by their individual family members and traditional music.

 

At the celebrant’s home, it was a beehive of activities as renowned musical artists engaged, entertained the guests who were also treated to lots of dishes and assorted drinks.

 

Speaking to the ABS, the first son of the celebrant Professor Spencer Nwangu said that it was God’s grace that kept their mother alive to be part of Ito Ogbo Obosi 2024 and said he is happy that his mother has seen what it will look like when she must have completed her sojourn on earth and goes back to her creator.

 

Mr. Nwangu noted that the celebration by Ndi Obosi is another way of ensuring that their aged live long so that they will be celebrated and thanked those who came to felicitate with them.

 

The celebrants first daughter Mrs. Uzo James was full of appreciation to God for the life of their mother whom she said gave all for her children and has continued to give them motherly love and advice, praying God to keep her so that they will be tapping from her wealth of experience.

 

On his part, another son of the celebrant, Mr. Ifunanya Nwangwu, prayed for his mother to live longer for them in good health even as he thanked members of his association for rallying round them in their time of joy.

 

He prayed that all who attended the event will leave to celebrate their eightieth birthday in sound health.
