Amorka community in Ihiala Council area, has marked a significant milestone as Amorka in diaspora has been officially inaugurated.

 

The inauguration ceremony held at Community Primary School field Amorka affirmed commitment and readiness to champion a course to contribute to the socio-economic development of the community.

The event which brought together indigenes of the community in diaspora according to them, was to foster unity in achieving a common front that will stimulate sustainability in the area.

 

In his welcome speech, the Chairman Amorka in diaspora, Chief Ugochukwu Ndukaihe announced that the inauguration has become imperative to unite as a force in driving socio economic growth of the community and hinted on their efforts towards embarking on transformative projects that will add value in uplifting the area.

In a speech, the Traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Kenneth Obiriolamgbe observed that the event has provided a platform to celebrate love, unity and promote brotherliness and lauded the initiative in bringing home meaningful growth in Amorka.

 

Earlier, the Chairman on the occasion, Chief Valentine Ikeh, underscored the organization as a formidable force that will open up gainful prospects and galvanize efforts for accelerated progress for the community.

Describing the inauguration as a welcome development, the President General of the community, Chief Emma Chiekwu, noted that the organization will assist in addressing some of the challenges confronting them.

 

One of the guests, who graced the occasion, Chief Chinonso Amo, commended the move and advocated for community driven initiatives in complimenting the state government efforts in creating an enabling environment for rural dwellers.

Others who spoke at the event includes, the Public Relations Officer, of the association Mr. Kwennto Ogwo.

 

The event featured award presentators to deserving members for their contributions to the growth of the organization, even as a Cultural dance climaxed the event.
