The Bishop, Methodist Church Nigeria, Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Moses Nwakanma, has stressed the need for every Christian to fight for faith and salvation so as not to be found wanted on the last day.

Right Reverend Nwakanma stated this at the Cathedral Church of Holy Trinity Amenyi, Awka during a service to mark the conclusion of his episcopal tour of all the circuits in Awka Diocese.

The service which featured confirmation of some candidates in the Methodist Church Nigeria, has its theme as ‘Rivers of living waters’.

Bishop Nwakanma noted that these are the last days and a period of distress when some people dwell in sinful nature to excel in life; while many work against the passions of Christ, seeking for wealth and fame.

He reminded Christians that Christ is the living water, and to draw nearer to Him so as not to be thirsty or lose their souls to the devil.

The Prelate encouraged the church not to lose hope over storms of life, but rather embrace the word of God, live by it and allow it to direct their paths.

He charged the newly confirmed to hold unto their faith, abide by the tenets and precepts of the church, make the word of God their watchword and always draw nearer to Christ in prayer, to enable them excel in life.

The President of Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Lydia Nwakanma, and other clergymen, Lay President, Mr. Douglas Mba, were in attendance during the service.
