The task of providing adequate security in the country no doubt is the collective responsibility of all.

 

This formed the crux of the deliberation when the Head of station ABS Onitsha, Mrs. Ifeoma Udechukwu led a team of management and staff of the establishment on a courtesy call to the new Divisional Police Officer incharge of Central Police Station Onitsha Chief Superintend of Police, Mr. Rabiu Garuba.

 

Mr. Garuba who appreciated the ABS stated that the establishment has been in

 

the forefront of publicizing the activities of the police in area of crime fighting, promising more collaboration with the ABS.

 

He renewed the call on the media and the general public to always provide the police with useful information that would assist them to excel in crime fighting.

 

Mr. Garuba promised to carry all along in the discharge of his duty, calling on all to join hands with him as he operates an open-door policy.

 

Speaking earlier, the Head of Station ABS Onitsha Mrs. Udechukwu said there is need to cement the existing relationship between the command and the ABS.

 

Mrs. Udechukwu who went down memory lane, enumerated the good records of

 

Mr. Garuba and asked him not to relent promising more cordial relationship.

 

On her part, the Head of Programme ABS Onitsha, Mrs. Uche Nwiba recounted numerous achievements of Mr. Garuba when he was the Divisional police officer in charge of Fegge station reminding him that much is expected of him.

 

On their part, two members of the delegation, Mrs. Adaobi Adia and Mr. Jude Mascourt Obiagwu urged Mr. Garuba to redouble effort in fighting crime as people look on the police for adequate security.

 

The Head of Commercial Unit, Mr. Val Oguejiofor enjoined Mr. Garuba to create a special programme in ABS Station where the police will be highlighting on security and youth activities.
