Anambra South traditional rulers have commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the official launch of free Antenatal and Delivery services in all government owned hospitals and HealthCare Centers.

 

The traditional rulers of Ajalli, Igwe Austin Nwangwu, that of Umuomaku, Igwe Obinna Ezenwa and their Amichi Counterpart, Igwe Oforbuike Ezeoke gave the commendation in an interview shortly after an interactive meeting with Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony Collins Nwabunwanne at Government House Awka.

 

Igwe Nwangwu who praised Governor Soludo and wife, Nonye for championing the cause of women by making antenatal and delivery services free to cushion the effects of the petrol subsidy removal noted that the Governor’s largesse will go a long way towards reducing infant and maternal mortality in the State.

 

In the area of road construction, the traditional rulers commended Governor Soludo for saving his community and the whole Aguata from going through Nanka and Agulu to Awka by constructing the Amansea, Ufuma Junction Road thereby reducing travelling hours.

 

Baring his mind, Igwe Ezenwa said Professor Soludo is the first Governor to award contract for road construction in Umuomaku which his community will remain ever grateful remarked that the construction of the Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugwu Umuoyia, Achina road is accelerating, which he expressed optimism will be completed by December this year.

 

He also commended the Governor and security agencies in the State for bringing down the rate of crime and criminality in the area.

 

Contributing, the traditional ruler of Amichi, Igwe Oforbuike described Governor Soludo’s transformational agenda as great and appealed to the citizenry to give him time to accomplish his vision for the State.

 

Also, the traditional ruler of Owerre Ezukalla, Igwe Thomas Ogbonnaya who joined his voice in lauding the Governor’s transformational agenda, prayed God to give him more wisdom as he pilot the affairs of the State.
