Wife of the Governor of Anambra State Mrs Nonye Soludo says to win the fight against illicit drugs effective strategies must be employed while all stakeholders should be actively involved in the campaign.

 

Mrs Soludo, who spoke in Awka, noted that there is need to bridge communication gap and ensure stronger collaboration among regulators, advocates, caregivers and others who are making efforts to checkmate the trend.

 

The Governor’s wife, who is a War against Drug Abuse Ambassador, stated that by Woking together, the campaign is made easier as there will be more co-ordinated approach and inputs from stakeholders to winning the war.

 

She further explained that differences among drug war advocates must be completely eliminated, if the campaign must bear desired fruits, stating that everyone has an important role to play in the process.

 

Mrs Soludo, who expressed concern over the increasing rate of illicit drug use among teenagers and school children, called on parents, schools, community and religious leaders, and other important partners to be more committed to the campaign, as the society depends largely on the results of their efforts .

 

The Governor’s wife also re-affirmed her commitment to extending the campaign to every part of Anambra State, pointing out that as a mother, she feels the responsibility of ensuring that every Anambra child is protected from all forms of abuse, including drug abuse, trafficking, domestic abuse and child labour, among others.
