It was a union of two different families who came together to become one as their children, Miss Jennifer Nnadi wedded Prince Ekene Obidinma, a Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano On Youth Entrepreneurship.

 

The ceremony at Saint John’s Anglican Church, Okpuno attracted top government officials, the traditional ruler of Okpuno, Igwe Sunday Okafor, families of the couple, friends and well-wishers.

 

In a sermon during the wedding, the Vicar of Saint John’s Anglican Church, Okpuno, Reverend Canon Onyekachukwu Egwuonwu said that marriage is an institution ordained by God underscoring the importance of God’s will that men should not be alone as any man who decides to be alone is working against the law.

Reverend Canon Egwuonwu disclosed that physical beauty, academic qualifications and wealth are not critical to choosing a partner rather God’s direction, stating that the couple should love, endure, tolerate and assist each other while they make prayers their strong pillar, advising that they should not seek advice outside the union rather settle their differences within themselves.

 

Speaking shortly after the wedding service, the Transition Committee Chairman, Awka South Council Area, Mr Leo Nwuba, described marriage as an interesting union which needs to be honoured, advising the couple to make love and prayers their watchword.

 

The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, encouraged the couples to be companions to each other, share love and secrets, while he advised the wife to be submissive and respectful while the husband should love and hold unto the wife.

 

In their separate speeches, the mother of the groom, Mrs Victoria Obidinma and the bride’s mother, Mrs Nkem Sonafic and a friend of the group, Engineer Tochukwu Kalu said they will be of good help and assistance to the couple by advising them to stick to each other and pray fervently.

In appreciation, the couple, Mr and Mrs Obidinma thanked God for bringing them together in love and promised to keep to the vows made to each other while maintaining a godly home.

 

Correspondent, Amaka Chibuzor Okoye reports that among the dignitaries that attended the wedding were the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr Uche Nworah while the exchange of rings, signing of marriage register,  dance and thanksgiving added colour to the event.
