The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi said the Agency has enrolled one hundred and fifteen thousand  beneficiaries into the Scheme.

 

Dr. Onyemaechi who disclosed this while speaking to the ABS Health Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye in Awka, said the Agency is poised to protecting the rights, privileges and all benefits of their enrollees across the State at all times.

 

The Executive Secretary who is equally the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano on Health, explained that in supporting their implementing medical facilities to deliver effective and efficient services to their beneficiaries, the Agency has lit five General Hospitals, which include, Umueri General Hospital, Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, Onitsha General Hospital, Ekwulobia General Hospital and Okija General Hospital with Solar powered lights.

 

Dr. Onyemaechi further revealed that the Agency has over two hundred implementing medical providers in all the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State and appealed to affluent Ndi Anambra to embrace the adoption model initiated by the Agency to enroll their people, especially the downtrodden into the Scheme.

 

Governor Willie Obiano established the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency ASHIA, to help Ndi Anambra access quality and affordable healthcare services with ease, as well as to ensure that the State achieves Universal Health Coverage.

 

Meanwhile, an officer with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr. Charles Chidiebere has commended the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency for their excellent services to their beneficiaries.

 

Narrating how one of the ASHIA implementing medical facilities tried to deny them a service covered by ASHIA, Mr. Chidiebere said he immediately called the ASHIA 24/7 Customer Care line and everything was resolved immediately, thanking the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Onyemaechi for doing a humanitarian job in Anambra state.
