The Commander of the Police Area Command Onitsha Mr John Ogbuabaka has advocated an intensified sensitization and proactive measures in curbing youth restiveness and advancing peace in the society.

He spoke when he received members of Peace Building and Conflict Prevention of the Rotary Club of Onitsha on a familiarization visit to his office.
Correspondent Odinaka Nwolisa reports that Area Commander commended the Rotary Club for their positive impact that has added value to the growth of the society.


He reminded them of the need to join hands in addressing the menace of cultism, which he noted has endangered youth development in the Country.

Mr. Ogbubaka who reiterated his continued support to the club, expressed joy that the visit will boost his morale in discharging his duty.

Earlier a Past Assistant Rotary Governor, Lady Stella Epundu said the visit was to commiserate with him on the recent ENDSARS unrests that bedeviled the Country appreciate and recognise his efforts in curbing the prevailing challenges of the day.

Lady Stella , who is also the Anambra State Co-ordinator, Peace Building and Conflict Prevention, said the initiative focuses on curbing prevalent Community Crisis among others noting that collaboration with Community Leaders, Seminar and advocacy have improved on the humanitarian agenda.

Speaking at the event an Assistant Rotary Governor Mr. Ifeanyi Onwuanyi explained that the essence of the visit was to align with the police to improve the security situation in the society.


Decorating the Area Commander, a member of the Club Reverend Father Innocent Nwalieji of Our Lady Queen of All Saint’s Federal Housing 3-3, Onitsha, commended him for promoting public safety and security.

In a vote of thanks, the President Rotary Club of Onitsha, Mrs. Ifeoma Nnata, who highlighted the principles of Rotary Club with respect to uplifting humanity, encouraged him to identify with the Club to achieve its set goals.
