Following the lifting of inter-state movement ban nationwide, it was
observed that most registered transport companies complied with the
fifty percent reduction in the number of passengers per vehicle.

Chibuzor Okoye, who monitored compliance level, reports
that both transporters and commuters abide by COVID-19 preventive
guidelines around Awka metropolis.

At Amansea boundary, unregistered transport companies were seen with
full load of passengers against the federal government’s order in
lifting the ban.

ABS equally observed that almost all the passengers wore their face
mask, but few wore it properly while many wore it on their jaw.
Paramedics were also seen checking commuter’s body temperature to
ascertain the level of their health status.


Another manager in one of the transport companies in Awka, Mr.
Kingsley Mafile said their company load over six vehicles to Lagos
State yesterday.
