The Member representing Onitsha South Constituency One at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Uzoma Eli has embarked on intensive sensitization of his constituents on corona-virus to prevent them from contracting the pandemic.


The exercise which commenced from Fegge covered all the nine electoral wards in the constituency.


House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that during the sensitization programme, Honourable Eli distributed sanitizers to his constituents and explained that the reason for the exercise was to prevent the entrance of the deadly virus to his constituency and commended them for staying at home.


The Lawmaker urged them to continue to observe every precautionary measures government has put in place against COVID-19 like frequent washing of hands with sanitizers, keeping distance from the next person, avoiding crowded area among others.


He commended prominent citizens of Anambra State who assisted the State Government with sanitary materials and funds to fight the pandemic.


In his remark, the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Fegge Ward Seven, Chief Peter Mmadueke described Honourable Eli as a good Legislator who has the interest of his constituents at heart, adding that the sensitization programme and sharing of sanitizers remain a right step in preventing COVID-19 in Onitsha South Constituency One.


The Personal Assistant to the Lawmaker, Mr Miracle Izunegbu who assisted in distributing the sanitizers urged the people to stay at home to avoid contracting COVID-19 which has altered people’s normal way of life and is currently sending thousands of people to their untimely death in different countries.
