The Auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, Most Reverend Dennis Isizor said development and welfare of schools impact positively on the life of Students.


Most Reverend Isizor was speaking at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area, when he received the executive members s of Old Boy’s Association of Father Joseph Memorial High School Aguleri who called on him to intimate him on the upcoming sixtieth Anniversary of their Alma Mater.


Father Joseph’s Memorial High School, Aguleri is one of the foremost schools within Omabala region and one of the oldest secondary schools in Anambra state named after the first white priest in Igbo land who died and was also buried within the school premises by the missionaries the school has produced.


Receiving the group, Most Reverend Isizor expressed happiness for the visit and described them as solders of Christ having passed through the school.
He went down memory lane on the activities of their patron saint saying he was the first to be ordained priest in Igbo region in 1919.


Bishop Izisor further asked them to reach out to their members, especially those who are struggling to make ends meet, and see to their welfare collectively and contribute to the development of the school in other to get it transform.


Earlier while briefing the Bishop on f activities that would feature during the upcoming sixtieth Anniversary, the Vice Chairman, Father Joseph Memorial High School, sixtieth Anniversary Planning committee, Mr. Michael Udah, said the school having attained such height needs to be recognised and respected for having produced men of different calibers.


Mr. Udah commended Bishop Isizor for his support to the school both spiritually and physically stating that they noticed a lot of transformation and changes, appealing to him to allow one of their own, Reverend Father Anthony Idigo to be a co-officiating priest during a special mass to commemorate the day this month while the full event will come up in November this year.


The Principal of the School, Reverend Father Anthony Izuu-Okoye, extolled the Bishop for his support to the students soliciting for the support of the Old Boys in reconstructing the Refectory, kitch6en and other important aspect of the school.


The National President of the Association, Dr Emma Udeakpe was among the delegation.
