The Anambra State Commissioner for Basic Education, Professor Kate Omenugha has called for more individual and group support towards making education enviable in the state.


The Commissioner who was speaking at Post Primary School Service Commission PPSSC Management meeting with Principals at ASUBEB Hall Awka, told the Principals to do everything within their position to make sure Anambra State retains its first position in Education in Nigeria.


According to Professor Omenugha, to boost the morale of Students in Dunukofia Local Government Area, the Member representing Dunukofia in the state assembly, Honourable Lawrence Ezeudu, has paid WAEC fees for all the indigenes of Dunukofia Local Government Area and also promised to give University Scholarship to the best five Students in WAEC.


The Basic Education Commissioner also offered to give fifty thousand naira to the best Student in WAEC in the same Local Government Area.


Professor Omenugha, brought the Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala to educate the Principals on the prevention of the deadly coronavirus disease.


Dr Okpala took time to lecture the school Heads on how to prevent contact with the deadly virus.


The Chairman House committee on Basic Education, Honourable Ejike Okechukwu also used the occasion to urge the principals in the State to be up and doing as he in turn is doing everything within his powers to make them happier.


In her speech, the Chairman PPSSC, Awka Mrs. Ify Okaro, reminded the Principals that they are models and should always see their position as an exalted one which must be guarded with honour.
