Anambra State traditional rulers have assured of mobilizing their subjects for the next round of immunization in the state.
The royal fathers gave the assurance when a team from the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, led by Dr. Nnamdi Uliagbafusi paid them a courtesy visit during their council meeting at the Government House Awka.
Addressing the traditional rulers, the Head, Disease Control and Immunization, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Nnamdi Uliagbafusi intimated the traditional rulers of their activities and the forth coming immunization and implored them to assist in mobilizing their people to reduce the issue of non compliance.
Also, the state Health Educator, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Mrs. Uju Onwuegbuzina announced that the immunization tagged: “Outbreak Response 2” begins from twenty-first March through twenty-fourth March while that of Meningitis and yellow fever last till March.
Responding on behalf of the traditional rulers, the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka told the team to always inform them whenever they want to come to their communities for the immunization to enable them to sensitize their subjects and commended the state government for providing logistics to contend with the outbreak of corona virus and Lassa fever.
On their parts, the traditional ruler of Achalla, Igwe Alex Nwokedi and his Ifite Dunu counterpart, Igwe Emeka Iluno promised to mobilize their subjects to participate in the Immunization program.
Among those in the entourage was a UNICEF Consultant, Mr. Felix Okocha.
