The reconstruction of Umueze Anam-Mmiata Anam road in Anambra West Council Area by the Anambra state government has opened up the area for more economic activities.

This was the observation from our correspondent Blessing Ijedibia who was at Nkwo Otupu Market Mmiata Anam well known for producing cassava and yams in commercial quantities where it was noticed that the market has metamorphosed from a village market to a national market.

The Nkwo Otupu Market situated along the Umueze Anam-Mmiata Anam road is well known for cassava production especially fermented ones.

At the market, bags of fermented cassava were on display while buyers and sellers alike were seen bargaining prices.

Vehicles were seen at the market waiting to convey the buyers to their various destinations.

ABS news crew was also at the Ezechi River that cut across Omambala River and met some women washing some cassava.

In their separate reactions, two buyers from Imo state, Mrs. Angelina Uba and Jane Obi said inspite of the long distance from Imo state to Mmiata Anam, they still travel to the area to purchase fermented cassava as according to them, Mmiata Anam cassava stands the test of time.

They said a bag of cassava cost between two thousand five hundred to three thousand naira while a seller who is also a farmer Mrs. Ngozi Onyeka said the Otupu cassava market is very beneficial as farmers have monetery value for their farm crops.

On his part, a driver Mr. Amechi Okonkwo said access road to the market makes such market to boom as people from various walks of life converge to make brick business
