As part of measures aimed at addressing restiveness among the youths, Anambra State Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy will, in less than one week, embark on a tour of the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State, to scout for youths with creative minds for meaningful engagements.
The Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Mr Afam Mbanefo who disclosed this at a meeting with staff of the Ministry, maintained that the Ministry has a mandate to develop programmes that will engage the youths in meaningful ventures.
Mr. Mbanefo, said his Ministry will visit local governments that fall within Nnewi and Aguata educational zones on the twenty-fifth of this Month, Onitsha and Otuocha on the twenty-sixth, while Awka and Ogidi will be on twenty-seventh.
He explained that the local government Areas were delineated into the six educational zones of the state for convenience and meaningful engagements.
The Commissioner who noted that the Ministry has generated useful data on youths in the state using www.anambrayouths.ng, said the Ministry will run a community-driven projects that will involve the youths.
Contributing, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Louisa Ezeanya, enjoined youth officers in the Ministry to drive the message to the grassroots, to enable the ministry achieve set goals.
