The Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, has issued three days ultimatum to private and commercial buildings within the Awka capital territory to cut grasses around their surroundings, desilt their drainages or have their premises sealed off.


The Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Venerable Amaechi Okwuosa gave the order while serving occupants of some commercial property along Awka-Onitsha-Enugu express way mandatory cutting of grasses and desilting notice.


Venerable Okwuosa told them that, it is their civic responsibility to keep their environment clean.


At an uncompleted building behind a mechanic workshop on the bank of the Iyiagu drainage along kwata junction axis of the Awka/Onitsha express way, housing over thirty-four persons mostly Hausas, Venerable Okwuosa advised them to desist from drug abuse and be law abiding.


He promised to engage them as ad hoc workers during demolition exercise to enhance their ability and keep them productive.


He said that as part of their mandate to keep Anambra state clean and safe, they have commenced the cutting of grasses along the express way.
