The State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, has organized a one day programme on ‘Communicating Government Policies, Programmes and Activities.

The event took place at the ASATU Hall, Government House Awka.

Representatives of various traditional rulers, government functionaries, Presidents-General,
Women Leaders, ASATU Youth Leaders, Civil society group, National Orientation Agency personnel , among numerous others were in attendance.

ln his speech, the State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Mr Charles Nwoji, said the programme was aimed at ensuring effective delivery of government’s achievements to the people in various communities.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C-Don Adinuba represented by a Director in the Ministry Mr Anthony Nweke stressed the need for all hands to be on deck in protecting government facilities.

The Chairman on the occasion and Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Public Utilities and Water Resources, Mr Victor Meju maintained that in any functional government there must be mutual communication between the government and society.

In their separate speeches , the National President of ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue, traditional ruler of Ifite-Dunu, Igwe Emeka Ilouno, and Chairman of Civil Society Organization, Prince Chris Azor who described information as key to development, commended the state government for its efforts in ensuring that Anambra remains the best state in the country.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Governor on Media Mr Tony Nezianya and the Special Assistant to Governor on Disability Matters, Mr Chuks Ezewuzie applauded Governor Obiano for recognizing people with disabilities, with reference to the recent employment of over two hundred disabled persons in the State Civil Service, charging the participants to take information garnered to the grass-root.
