The State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has organised a one day voter Education Campaign against vote buying and selling in the 2019 general elections.
The campaign which took place at St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Okpoko attracted various security agencies and town union representatives.
In his speech, the State Director of NOA, Barrister Charles Nwoji, highlighted the consequences of vote buying and selling and the need for people to shun it to enable them vote in people with integrity for quality representation.
Barrister Nwoji however commanded Ndi Anambra for coming out en masse to cast their votes and drew their attention to March ninth House of Assembly election that concerns them directly.
He also enlightened them on how to vote appropriately to reduce incidences of void votes and urged them to take the message to the grassroots.
The Okpoko Divisional Police Officer, CSP Ibrahim Jauro, , represented by DSP Sunday Ochogwu decried cases of ballot box snatching in parts of Ogbaru in the Presidential and National Assembly elections which he said is capable of threatening peace and bringing in bad representation.
DSP Ochogwu assured the people that the Police have put adequate measures on ground to conduct a peaceful election and solicited the cooperation of everybody in the fight against electoral violence and other crimes.
Others who spoke including Ogbaru Woman Leader, Mrs. Henrietta Mbanefo, and the Vice President, Ogwuikpele Town Union, Mr. Goodluck Ajanwulibe, promised to take the message to the grassroots.
It featured question and answer session and brief drama that centered on dangers of vote buying and selling.
