The late State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps Mr Sunday Ajayi continues his final journey with a stop over at the State Headquarters of the Command in Awka , where a special parade was held in his honour by both the regular  and special Marshals.

The brief ceremony started with a Guard of Honour mounted by a detachment of the Corps inspected by the Acting Sector Commander Mr Frank Okwueze.

Members of the Corps and Special Marshals as well as some government officials, friends and well wishers later filed past the remains of the late Commander to pay their last respects. 
Speaking later, the Permanent Secretary, Office the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emma Udeakpeh said it was a sad day for the state and described Late Mr Ajayi  as a dedicated officer who put in his best to achieve results. 
Dr Udeakpeh noted that his commitment to road safety matters achieved commendable results. 
He explained that the State has continued to give the Agency all necessary support to carry out its duties effectively. 
Also speaking the Deputy State Coordinator, Special Marshals, Mr Festus Iloh lamented that the demise of Mr Ajayi was a big lost to the state and country,  noting that he left a vacuum that would be difficult to fill. 
Earlier the Acting State Sector Commander,  Mr  Okwueze described the late Ajayi as a distinguished gentleman, hardworking,  a team and player  who carried everybody along and left commendable legacies. 
The remains later left the state to his home town Obbo-Aiyegunle, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State. 
Late Mr Ajay died in a road accident on Saturday eight December 2018 at the age of Fifty one.
