The Traditional Ruler of Enugwu – Ukwu Igwe Ralph Ekpe has paid royal visits to Enugwu-Ukwu Centenarians, calling on all to emulate their good legacies for longevity.

The visit which featured presentation of Christmas gifts including a bag of rice and beverages each has Okeichie Udearoh Nkwonta of Uruogbo village who is one hundred and twenty-nine years, Mgbeke Nwanyaka of Akiyi Village, one hundred and eleven years, and Okeke Akpu Okeora of
Obeagu-Osili Village, all in Enugwu-Ukwu as beneficiaries.

When the ABS arrived at the families of the centenarians of the community, they were very healthy and still communicate well and the oldest of all was met preparing his breakfast by himself.

Speaking while expressing his joy over God’s blessings to the entire people of Enugwu-Ukwu community, the Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe Umunri Igwe Ekpeh, noted that the purpose of the initiative was to give them sense of belonging as the season calls for celebration.

Igwe Ekpeh further called on Ndi Enugwu-Ukwu to be upright in all their endeavors saying that good deeds beget good rewards and God’s blessings.

Presenting the items and cash gifts from Igwe Ekpeh, the President General of Enugwu-Ukwu Development Union, Comrade Bonny Ozonkwuaku said that the initiative has become an annual event as a way of thanking God for blessing them with such people which are rare to find in most communities.

On their part, the Centenarians while appreciating the Igwe and Enugwu-Ukwu community in general prayed for long reign of the king and prosperity of the land.

They however called on people to live a life guided by truth and good deeds for them to see a blessed old age.

Others, who spoke during the tour including the son of the oldest woman in Enugwu-Ukwu community, Mr Nwaora Okafor and the chairman of Obeagu-Osili Village, Mr Simon Agu, commended the kind gesture of the Igwe and the entire Enugwu-Ukwu Governing Council and prayed God to bless him the more.
