The state Government through the ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with some training firms, Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice Industries

and Information and Communication Technology Industries to train students of all technical schools across the state.

The training programme is designed to train students on Automobile, Industrial machine production, computer education and soft skills like effective communication skill among others.

Speaking at the signing of the MOU, the state Commissioner for Education, Professor Kate Omenugha, said that Governor Willie Obiano has continued to give high premium to the education system, stressing that students of technical colleges represent creative and innovative minds capable of bringing about needed technological changes to the society .

The Education Commissioner noted that the state government has invested so much in the technical colleges across the state to be self- dependent and charged the partnering firm to put in their expertise to keep the children off the street.

Earlier in an address of welcome, the chairman Post Primary School Service Commission, PPSSC, Lady Joy Ulasi, applauded the partners for their thoughtfulness in ensuring that Anambra students upon graduation, will no longer wait for white collar jobs and assured the Commission’s readiness to key into their programme , as the commission has recorded tremendous increase in the technical colleges in the state.

The convener and CEO of Kiara College, Mr. Endi Ezengwa, expressed delight with the state government efforts in the Education sector , saying that it is important to invest experience and knowledge into students of technical colleges in the state and assured the cooperation of the group to achieve the lofty vision of the state government.

He affirmed that the training initiative is a great challenge geared towards improvement of vocational schools in the state.

The event featured formal signing of the MOU by the groups .
