As the Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS, marks the two years anniversary of its radio programme, the “creative forum”, students have been charged to explore multiple

avenues of income earnings so as to actualize their dreams.

This was the highpoint of speeches made during the one day interactive forum organized by the ABS, to expose students on opportunities that abound in creative Industry.
The event which took place at the Professor Kenneth Dike E-library in Awka was attended by students drawn from over forty secondary schools across the state.


In a presentation, the Member representing Njikoka Two Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Dr Pete Ibida who spoke on the role of parents and teachers in motivating the youths, advised parents to always know how their children spend their time, organize extra moral lessons for them and avoid pampering them. 

Earlier, the Dean faculty of Social Sciences Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Stella Okunna who urged the students to cultivate reading habit to enable them read wideannounced prizes for three best students from the participating schools who would read and summarize any novel chosen by their schools within one month.

Also, the Managing Director Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation, Publishers of the National Light, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, explained that the act of writing does not necessarily require being expert in arts and literature but is more about having flare for writing.

Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr Uche Nworah noted that as part of its social responsibility, the station, decided to put together the programme to expose the youths on opportunities in various fieldsof life

 

by bringing in youngsters who have excelled in various fields like film making , advert and public relations, journalism, multimedia, music and entertainment among others.

In an address, the presenter of creative forum in ABS Mr Eze Onwuji, said young people need a good educational foundation to develop their character and creative abilities.

Others who spoke at the event including a film maker, Mr Paschal Osubor Mr Tony Ujubuonwu, shared their experiences on how they excelled in the various careers despite challenges, advising the students to believe in their dreams.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroot Mobilization and Enlightenment Sir Anthony Ugoji, while calling on youths to take their studies seriously presented a special traditional Mbem to the admiration and entertainment of the guests.

Others who graced the event were the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Reorientation, Mrs Mitchele Onugbolu, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Mr Chinedu Nkwonta,the Director News and Current Affairs of the ABS Mr Gab Okpalaeze while Miss Abiola Jinadu Steve Nwainokpor and Michael Nwobodo made presentations at the event.
