The Federal Government has been called upon to place priority on Agriculture this year.
The traditional ruler of Nise in Awka South Local Government Area, Igwe Romanus Iloh, made the call while speaking to the ABS at Nise on his expectations.
Describing Agriculture as the main stay of the economy before the advent of oil, Igwe Iloh, urged government at all levels to assist practicing farmers with farm inputs and fund, for enhanced food production in the country.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for placing high premium on agriculture and called on other Governors to emulate him.
Contributing, an industrialist, Chief Anthony Udoh, called on the Federal Government to map out measures that will ensure the growth of indigenous firms this year.
Chief Udoh who hails from Oraukwu in Idemili North Local Government Area, called on the Federal Government to look into the epileptic power supply in the country, to enhance the living standards of the people.
