Filipino boxing star Manny Pacquiao plans to come out of retirement to fight, his promoter said Tuesday, though the boxer said no fight has yet been set.

Bob Arum told American sports broadcaster ESPN that the former welterweight champion plans to fight on either October 29 or November 5 as a main event bout in Las Vegas as long as it doesn't clash with his senate duties in the Philippines. No opponent has been named thus far.

"Manny wants to come back," Arum said. "The problem is he can only come back if it doesn't interfere with his senate duties."

Arum had previously planned an October 15 fight in Mandalay Bay Events Center, but scrapped it due to upcoming votes in the senate in Pacquiao's native Philippines.

"The question is building availability because we want to do the fight in Las Vegas," Arum said about the new dates.

Arum said the most difficult part of setting up a fight is working around the boxer's busy political schedule.

"He now has given us the go-ahead to shop for a venue and an opponent and see if we can do it on a particular date or dates," Arum said.

"We've been trying to work out a date that doesn't interfere with his senatorial responsibilities and his ability to train."

But in a statement, Pacquiao, who has a record of 58-6-2 with 38 knockouts, denied any firm plans on a fight.

"There is no truth to media reports that I'm planning to take a leave from my senate duties just to fight again atop the ring. I want to make it clear -- my priority is my legislative works," he said.

"My next fight has not yet been discussed. Should there be any, I'll make sure it will not interfere with my senate duties."

The boxer said all his training would take place in the Philippines so that he can keep participating in senate proceedings. Pacquiao typically spends half his time training in the Philippines and the other half in the US.

"Boxing is my only means of livelihood to support my family and to help those who are in need," he said.

"Politics, to me, is a vocation not a means to eke out a living.

"I want to maintain that belief. I want to keep my dignity intact while in public service."

"Manny's primary concern and obligation is to fulfill his senatorial duties," Koncz said.

"But he misses (boxing). He misses the training. He misses being in the gym. You can see when he trains it's like a stress reliever for him.

"So I am working with Bob and Manny is working closely with the senate president to make sure the dates are OK. We are doing this properly."

Adrien Broner (32-2, 24 KOs) was being considered as a possible opponent, but Arum said that would not happen because Broner wanted too much money for the fight.

Other potential opponents could be undefeated Terence Crawford or Viktor Postol, who meet in a July 23 fight.

At the tender age of 26, Taylor Swift is the world's highest-paid celebrity, pulling in a whopping $170 million over the past year, Forbes magazine said Monday.

The pop diva's take from June 2015 to June 2016 is the highest total of her young career, the magazine said, more than doubling her previous record of $80 million last year.

She out-earned other famous musicians including Adele ($80.5 million), Madonna ($76.5 million), Rihanna ($75 million) and Bruce Springsteen ($60.5 million).

The "Shake It Off" singer also outpaced rival Katy Perry who was last year's top-earning musician at $135 million, according to Forbes magazine's annual list of 100 highest-paid celebrities.

Perry dropped to number 63 on this year's list, earning a mere $41 million.

Swift's huge earnings were largely thanks to her "1989 World Tour" during which she smashed the Rolling Stone's North American record, grossing $200 million on the continent en route to a quarter of a billion worldwide, the magazine said.

Coming in at number two on the list this year was the boy band One Direction, ($110 million), followed by author James Patterson ($95 million).

Taylor's former beau, musician Calvin Harris, also made the cut coming in at number 21 ($63 million).

"The world's 100 highest-paid celebrities pulled in $5.1 billion pretax over the past 12 months, more than the GDP of Belize, Gambia and Bhutan combined," Forbes said.

Magazine editor Zack O'Malley Greenberg said live entertainment continues to be a major cash draw.

"From soccer games in Spain to concerts in China, fans are willing to shell out to see big names – and this is driving the celebrity economy to ever greater heights," he said in a statement.

On the Hollywood front, Jennifer Lawrence was the industry's highest-paid actress for the second consecutive year, earning $46 million, a slight drop from the $52 million "The Hunger Games" star banked the year before.

Actor Dwayne Johnson wrestled the highest-paid actor spot from "Iron Man's" Robert Downey Jr., earning $64.5 million, largely thanks to the billion-dollar "Fast and Furious" franchise and the surprising success of 2015's "San Andreas" movie.

Many athletes also made the list, including Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo ($88 million), tennis man Roger Federer ($68 million), and German race car driver Sebastian Vettel ($41 million).

US pop diva Jennifer Lopez and Broadway superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda on Monday put out a musical tribute to victims of the Orlando nightclub attack, with proceeds going to charity.

"Love Make the World Go Round" is tinged with an uptempo synthpop beat and resilient messages, such as when Lopez sings, "Those who hate us and fear us cannot keep us down."

Lopez and Miranda, who had teased the song a week ago, performed it on NBC's "Today" show on a brilliant New York summer day to fans outside Rockefeller Center.

The pair, who will also play on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday night, put the song on sale over iTunes.

The title of "Love Make the World Go Round" comes from a Tony Awards acceptance speech by Miranda, who has created one of Broadway's biggest hits in years with "Hamilton."

Miranda acted for the last time in the trailblazing hip-hop musical on Saturday, with the cast's final performance attended by celebrities ranging from Lopez to filmmaker Spike Lee to US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Lopez and Miranda are both of Puerto Rican origin. Many of the victims of the June 12 attack were also Hispanic.

Forty-nine people were killed and another 53 injured when gunman Omar Mateen attacked the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando.

The mass shooting was the deadliest in modern US history.

Proceeds from the song will go to the Hispanic Foundation's Somos Orlando fund, which will provide mental health services to survivors.

Lopez also took part in a more mournful charity song, "Hands," which came out last week and features a range of stars including Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Imagine Dragons.

The ABS live studio in Awka was agog as some Music legends in the seventies participated in a radio phone in program, anchored by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Sir Willie Nwokoye.

The program featured Mr Vincent Ikeotuonye and Basy cole Akalonu of the Sweet Breeze, Sam Matthews, Anii Hofnar Umebuani of the One World, and Disc Jokey Alan B. Onyemaechi among others.

In the course of the program, the anchor, Sir Nwokoye stressed the need for the new generation of entertainers to key into the present situation in the Country and explore ways of correcting the ills of the immediate past.

Sir Nwokoye informed the public of an upcoming Live music Concert in Owerri on December 23rd 2016.

The program took another dimension when the anchor made a selection of old pop and funky music from the Wings and sweet breeze.

The music legends took turns to field questions from the anchor.

Callers equally participated in the program, as Sunny Egede who called in from Awgbu said that he didn't know that those musicians were even of Igbo extraction.

Mr Silas Ike who called from Ogbunike explained that he was still a student when the legends dominated in the East.

Other callers Mr Michael from Nri, Hygenius from Iseke and Gabinus Uka from Awka, resonated nostalgic experiences at the effects and messages derived from songs in the seventies, which according to them is a departure from the present day entertainers. While appreciating them, the callers called on the younger generation of entertainers to toe the line of their predecessors, and produce
deep music with deep meanings and lessons, and avoid copying others.

The live program which had a collection of songs from the seventies saw participants display unique but stylish dance steps in the ABS studio.
