Governor Willie Obiano has reassured Ndi Anambra that they will not feel the impact of the present economic recession this year.

Governor Obiano disclosed this in his New Year message to Ndi Anambra.
According to Government House Correspondent Kenechukwu Ofomah, the Governor who promised that the state economy will remain robust and viable, said it will be guaranteed by the strategic steps his administration is taking in pumping lots of resources into the system.
These according to him include the economic palliatives announced last year to give the very low income earners some financial respite, the twenty million naira per community choose-your-project initiative, and the numerous investments being attracted across the various sectors among others.
The State Governor assured that as soon as this year’s budget is approved, Communities in the State will benefit from another round of the twenty million naira per community development initiative.
He pointed out that his administration had in the year's budget estimate, multiplied the amount it budgeted for Agriculture in the past year by five times in its bid to re-energize the sector to play its expected role as an alternative for Internally Generated Revenue for both the State Government and the people.
Chief Obiano also said the increase in the Central Bank of Nigeria’s financial support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the State from one point five billion naira to three billion will ensure that more agro-based industries will spring up to support the food sufficiency vision of his government and expressed happiness that Ndi Anambra are beginning to key into the vision of the state to revolutionize Agriculture.
Wishing Ndi Anambra a happy and prosperous New Year, Governor Obiano urged them to be proud of who they are and have faith in God and his administration as according to him, he will not relent in fulfilling his social contract for the people.
