The State House of Assembly Committee on Works has charged the contractor handling the construction of Achina/Oneh/Ogboji road to strive to
alshphat the road in a week’s time as agreed with the state government.
The committee gave the charge when it inspected the road project as part of its oversight responsibilities.
The Committee, which spoke through its Chairman, Dr. Ikechukwu Umeh, observed that the contractor has kept to specifications.
Dr Umeh said that the road is very strategic to the state as it connects Peter University as well as Agrarian Communities in Aguata and Orumba South Local Government Areas.
On his part, the contractor handling the project, Mr. Chamy Forenstada said that the five-point-two kilometer road, awarded in 2014 by the present administration, is nearing completion.
Mr. Chamy told the committee that they have completed the earthwork and the drainages, paving way for alshphat.  Â
Meanwhile, a member of the committee, Prince Boniface Okonkwo representing Awka North Constituency has commended Governor Willie Obiano for mobilizing the contractor handling the construction of Amansea/Ebenebe/Ugbenu/Awba-Ofemili road back to site.
