Ajango village and indeed the entire Amaokpala community in Orumba North Local Government Area went agog as people from all walks of life gathered for the celebration of a life well-lived by the late Mrs Caroline Nwago Nwankwo-Ikwueto, who died on November eight 2022 at the age of ninety-two, and was buried according to her wish.

The funeral ceremony, which started with a requiem mass at Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church Amaokpala; with family members, the clergy, friends and well-wishers in attendance, was filled with testimonies of service to God and humanity, dedication to family and hard work, and other virtues of the late Mrs. Nwankwo-Ikwueto, popularly known as ‘long life’.

In his homily at the requiem mass, Reverend Father Tobias Osigwe, who reminded Christians that life on earth is for a purpose, cautioned against attachment to worldly possessions in order to make heaven.

He described the deceased as one dedicated to her faith, and who contributed immensely to the growth of the church.

Son of the deceased and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Barrister Patrick Ikwueto, remarked that his mother was a treasure to possess and would be missed dearly, advising those whose mothers are still alive to always have good moments with them; as their presence is not always assured.

Daughter-in-law to the deceased, Barrister Chinelo Ikwueto, and a grandchild, Mr. Onyedika Ikwueto, described her as a loving and accommodating woman who lived a purposeful life.

In their remarks while condoling with the family, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, and a former Senator that represented Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, testified that the deceased was a wonderful and humorous personality who raised God-fearing children.

The member representing Orumba North at the state House of Assembly, Honorable Emeka Aforka, and the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government, Prince Neville Uchendu, thanked God for the life the deceased lived and prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul.
