Counseling Association of Nigeria, Anambra State branch has ended her two-day Seminar with the theme Rebranding counselors on Duty post-counselor and counseling services in Post COVID-19 era.

Correspondent Theophilus Ukoha reports that the event held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University auditorium had in attendance education stakeholders, School principals, and student counselors.

In a welcome address the chairperson Counselling Association of Nigeria Anambra State branch, Reverend Sister, Professor Amaka Obineli, said the occasion was also designed to appreciate selected individuals who have in one way or the other contributed immensely in building formidable guidance and counseling services in the state and Nigeria at large.

She charged members to consolidate on the endearing legacies of transparency, humility, willingness to lend a helping hand of which the association is known for.

In a remark, the National President Counselling Association of Nigeria, Professor Elizabeth Omotunde, expressed optimism that all members of Counselling Association of Nigeria and the awardees will continue to exhibit exemplary commitment and devotion to duty in pursuit of excellence for guidance and counseling in the State.

In a keynote lecture, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, represented by Dr. Bryan Udeh, of the department of English Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, posited that professional counseling is a relationship that empowers various individuals and families as the counselor is in a collaborative position with humanity to identify goals and potential, give solution to problems which causes emotional turmoils to individuals.

Earlier the chairman on the occasion, Mr Thank God Ekwunife, charged teachers and counselors to be on top of their profession in order to mould quality leaders of tomorrow.

Award presentation, dance and mock drama also featured the occasion.
