About one hundred persons have benefited from free medical interventions of the International Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers at Neni, Anaocha Local government Area.
The outreach which took place at Neni Town Hall, attracted persons with different kinds of ailment.
Chidinma Ikeanyionwu was there and reports that beneficiaries were attended to according to the numbers they obtained at the entrance point as doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other specialists were seen at their various tables waiting to attend to patients.
Illnesses checked were sugar level, blood pressure, diabetes, malaria and typhoid among others and were also administered with the right type of medicine.
The team leader who is also a member of International Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineers Mr Chigozie Enemuo noted that although the intervention is a humanitarian arm of the association called Humanitarian Activities Committee, the sole objective is to reach out to those at the rural communities considering the challenges people go through to access good health.
Mr Enemuo noted that the outreach is also a way the institute meets some of the sustainable goals related to health and wellbeing.
The President-General of Neni Town Union, Chief Chukwudi Mbonu while appreciating the gesture extolled the organizers for finding his community fit for the Medicare.
Chief Mbonu used the opportunity to urge everyone most especially ndi Neni to cultivate the habit of visiting the hospital because health is wealth.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr Ifeanyichukwu Dim who hails from Abia State but resides in Neni and Mrs Chioma Ofojee expressed joy over the drugs they received free of cost and thanked their benefactors for the intervention.
