The Chairman of the National Population Commission, Chief Eze Duruiheoma has called on both government and private organizations to mobilize resources that would be used to address the needs of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in the country.
Chief Duruiheoma made the call during the commemoration of the 2015 World Population Day in Awka. Chief Duruiheoma, represented by the Federal Commissioner in charge of Anambra State, Professor Chika Moore, advocated adequate measures that will help reduce the sufferings of vulnerable population in Nigeria.
 He stated that only five per cent of Nigerians are in control of the nation’s resources and called for ways of redistributing them for the benefit of all.
 On his part, the State Director, National Population Commission, Mr. Joachim Ulasi, called on Nigerians to obtain their birth certificates free of charge from their office and advocated the upgrading of the quality of the country’s population to enable them contribute to national development.
