Today is Universal Children’s Day.
The day was established by the United Nations to promote international awareness on the need towards promoting children’s welfare.

It was not until November twentieth 1959 that the UN General Assembly adopted and extended form of the declaration of the rights of the child.

Originally acquired in 1924 by the League of Nations, the UN adopted this document as its own statement of children’s right.

In Anambra state, the wife of the governor Chief Dr Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano has continued to demonstrate interest in the affairs of women and children in the state through her past project CAFÉ (caring Family Enhancement Initiative).

While felicitating with children in the state, she pledged continues support to compliment the activities of UNICEF and state Government under the leadership of her husband Chief Dr Willie Obiano.

The goal of Universal Children’s year 2019 is to improve child welfare worldwide, promote and celebrate children’s rights and promote togetherness and awareness amongst all children.

According to UNICEF, children in various part of the world suffered various forms of abuse, neglect and violence both at home, schools and other places in the society.

For parents, one of the primary responsibilities is taking care of their child physical well-being, from regular check-ups and immunization especially now conducting the second dose of measles containing vaccine is on-going in Anambra state, healthy eating and plenty of exercise to use up all that energy.

Setting a goal example for kids is key and we also want to install good habit that will give every child a smile.
