The inmates at home for mentally challenged people Nteje, Oyi council yesterday received succor from a non- governmental foundation.


The materials were presented and handed over to the Commissioner for Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue by the leader of the group, Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu who is the Special Adviser to the governor on budget, efficiency and Anambra State Internal Revenue Service.


Receiving the items, Lady Ndidi said it is important to remember those in need as the inmates trust solely on government for survival, pending when they will be rehabilitated and reunited with their families.


She noted that such gestures will assist the government and as well put smile on the faces of the inmates, commending the foundation for the gesture.


Earlier the leader of the foundation, Ogbuefi Onyejepu said in line with the foundation’s determination in assisting members of the society, they dimmed it fit to visit the home to make them feel sense of belonging, commending the Governor Willie Obiano led administration for assisting the home.
