The traditional ruler of Umuawulu in Awka South local government area, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, has called on the Anambra State legislature to ensure the passage of bills that will enhance development of the state.

Igwe Egwuonwu, who was speaking to newsmen at Umuawulu, on his expectations from the new legislators, urged them to cooperate with the executive and the judiciary in moving the state to the next level.
The Royal father extended his hands of fellowship to the Deputy Speaker of the House who hails from Umuawulu, Mr. Harford Oseke, urging him to carry his constituents along in his legislative business..
On his part, a former legislator, Mr. Onyekachi Aghanya, urged the law- makers to take their oversight functions seriously to enhance development of the state.
Mr. Aghanya felicitated with the new Deputy Speaker, Mr. Oseke, expressing hope that his wealth of experience will be brought to bear in discharging his legislative functions.
Contributing, another native of Umuawulu, Mr. Chike Oranye, urged the legislators to make laws that will be in tandem with the vision of Governor Willie Obiano.
Mr. Oranye encouraged the Deputy Speaker, his townsman, to be committed to the challenges of his office.
