The Chairman State House of Assembly Committee on Tenders Board, Chief Romanus Obi, says due process is always followed in the award of contracts in the state.
Speaking on a Radio Programme in Awka, Chief Obi maintained that the state legislature is committed to ensuring that all government projects in the state are done with specifications and to standards through its oversight responsibilities.
He commended various House Committees for embarking on comprehensive oversight responsibilities which he said has ensured appropriate utilization of public fund and improved the performance of Ministries and Agencies in the state.
Chief Obi, who represents Orumba North constituency, called on the citizenry to constantly monitor government projects in their various communities with a view to ensuring that contractors execute quality jobs.
The lawmaker emphasized the need for constituents to intimate their representatives with the needs of their constituencies especially during town hall meetings, adding that such inter-face would help the representatives to articulate the basic needs of their people in the annual budget for proper implementation.
