The Deputy Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Chief Paschal Agbodike has enjoined married couples to always cement their union in order to reap a blissful marriage.
Chief Agbodike made the call at Saint Mary’s Catholic Parish Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area shortly after a thanksgiving mass to celebrate the thirtieth wedding anniversary of Chief Hyacinth Maduagwu and his wife Barrister Rita Maduagwu, who is the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
The ceremony was also used to mark the sixtieth birthday anniversary of Chief Maduagwu.
While felicitating with the Maduagwu’s on their wedding anniversary, Chief Agbodike said that the couple have showcased their love for each other by living together for thirty years.
On his part, the Member representing Anaocha Constituency Two, Mr Charles Ezeani, called on married couples to always celebrate their union while alive as exemplified by the Speaker and her husband rather than squandering money in burring their dead ones.
The Member representing Awka North Constituency, Prince Boniface Okonkwo who described the State Number One lawmaker, Barrister Rita Maduagwu as a good leader noted that her leadership style has ensured cordial relationship between the Legislature and the Executive Arm of Government and wished her more fruitful years in her marriage.
For the Member representing Ogbaru Constituency Two, Sir Somtochukwu Udeze, the celebrants have shown that with patience, understanding, tolerance and true love, couples could overcome their life’s challenges and live to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
Appreciating all that graced the occasion, Chief Hyacinth Maduagwu expressed gratitude to God for his mercies and blessings upon his family.
