It was the end of an era and the beginning of a new dawn in Anambra State as people from all walks of life both within and outside the State,

converged on the Dr Alex Ekwueme square in Awka for the inauguration of the second term in office of Governor Willie Obiano and his Deputy Dr Nkem Okeke.

The event attracted both serving and former Ministers, Members of the State and National Assemblies, Governors, Political gladiators, civil servants and artisans while hawkers of different edibles and non edibles made brisk business’s.

Different cultural dances, masquerades, parade by the Nigeria Police brass band and songs added glamour to the event.

In his goodwill message, the Minister of Labour and Employment and a one-time Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chris Ngige said the peaceful inauguration has launched Anambra State on the path of greatness.

Dr Ngige, while wishing Governor Obiano success in his second term urged him to remain focused and ensure justice for everybody.

Contributing, a one-time Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mrs Josephine Anenih, who expressed joy for being part of the event, prayed God to grant Governor Obiano wisdom and patience as he pilots the affairs of the State in the best way it will impact positively on the citizenry.

The traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenenth Orizu the Third, in his goodwill message described the Governor’s inauguration as clear evidence of the people’s confidence in the Governor which according to him shows that he is a good leader.

On his part the President-General of Ogbunike Progressive Union, Dr Nnamdi Nwadiogbu, described the event as remarkable urging the Governor to consolidate on his already recorded achievements.

The Chairman State Council of Traditional rulers Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe of Onitsha and President State Council of Traditional Prime Ministers Chief Anthony Enukeme, were among those that attended the event.
