Anambra state has increased the tempo of exporting vegetables to Europe with another shipment of vegetables due to leave for Lagos today.

This conclusion was confirmed by ABS correspondent Ngozi Obileri who was at Grafil at Aroma and observed where the processed vegetables were being trans loaded from the cold room containers into two mobile cold rooms for onward movement to Lagos.

 

When ABS arrived Grafil at Aroma, workers of the establishment were seen loading one of the two mobile cold rooms with processed vegetables ranging from onugbu, ugu, scent leave, utazi among others.

 

Speaking to ABS, the President of Grafil, Dr Fuster Ifejiofor, explained that the vegetables were sourced from their farm at Ogbunka, and local farmers from Onono, Osomalla, and other communities in Anambra State.

 

Dr Ifejiofor added that on completion of the loading process, the mobile cold room containers would move to Lagos, where they would be shipped to Europe.

 

He added that after sourcing the vegetables, they preserve them in the cold room containers that would runs for twenty four hours a day to avoid decay, noting that the products are well accepted in the international market.

 

He urged farmers to work very hard and called on individuals to embrace the moves initiated by Governor Obiano towards agricultural revolution in Anambra as according to him, agriculture is the only guarantee to drive the state economy.
