A one-day workshop on setting up of knowledge sharing platform for Value Chain Development Program, VCDP, has ended with a call on participants to imbibe the culture of chain production.

The workshop, organized by the state Coordination Office of the Value Chain Development Program, IFAD-assisted, Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Export, took place at the Conference Hall of the Agricultural Development Program office in Awka with leaders of VCDP farmers, processors and marketers in attendance.

Declaring the workshop open, the State Program Coordinator, Value Chain Development Program, Mr. Nnamdi Agwuncha, noted that the workshop was in line with the requirements of one of the components of the program saddled with information gathering and dissemination.

Mr. Agwuncha, who said that any information that is not shared, is as good as dead, encouraged them to discuss with the state coordination office of VCDP their discoveries for analysis , scaling up and proper dissemination for all round development of the state farmers.

Presenting a paper titled, “the Importance of Effective Communication and Knowledge sharing in an Organization”, a resource person, Prince Nezieanya Obinabo, enjoined them to always share information before storing them because according to him, they are often lost due to deaths, retirements or other reasons.

Prince Nezieanya charged them to make sure that the information and knowledge sharing chain that passed through their tables is not broken so that they will be part of solving the problem instead of being part of creating more problems.

In their separate speeches, some of the participants, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ifediche, a cassava farmer from Ogbu, Orumba North Council Area and Miss Chika Okonkwor, a seed rice producer from Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area, described the workshop as timely, adding that with the knowledge and information sharing platform, the global market becomes accessible.
