A two-day refresher training organized for journalists and other media practitioners from different media organizations in Nigeria by a nongovernmental organization, Search for Common Ground, has ended with a call on participants, journalist’s, media practitioners to continue promoting and protecting human rights, including freedom of religion through their reports and programme, focusing on nation building.
Senior Media Officer on the Promotion and Protection of Freedom of Religion or Belief, Project being implemented by Search for Common Ground, Nigeria, Katlong Dasat, who made the call in Abuja, noted that Freedom of Religion or Belief is a human rights project, and the refresher training centered on journalists and others remaining conflict-sensitive in their reports so as to “Do no harm” to the society.
The Project Manager for the Promotion and Protection of Freedom of Religion or Belief, Search for Common Ground, Nigeria, Mr Gauis Dachet, announced a toll-free line, 0-8-0-0-0-0-0-2-2-3-3 to report Freedom of Religion or Belief violations for legal and other supports.
