The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has opened the Parish Hall and dedicated Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Umuawulu built by the members of the community.

In a homily, Most Reverend fEzeokafor explained that it was a day of joy not only for the Church dedication but also for the fact that it was done during Easter period which he described as the greatest feast in Christendom, stating that anyone who wants to have a relationship with God must go to church and reminding Christians that their bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit which must be only for the worship of God.

In a vote of thanks, the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Benjamin Odika appreciated the Bishop for his fatherly role and support to the church, Umuawulu traditional ruler, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, Chiefs Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Azubuike Ekweozor, Christopher Ndubuisi and all that contributed in cash, kind and by presence to make the event a memorable day.

In their remarks, the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State Assembly, Honourable Chukwuma Okoye and some indigenes of the community, including, Chiefs Christopher Ndubuisi, Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, commended Bishop Ezeokafor for showing them true love, by sending Reverend Father Odika to their parish, whom they said brought outstanding human and Infrastructural transformation to Umuawulu Catholic community.
