Anambra state has been ranked the best on the implementation of programmes and policies contained in the Charters of Demand as recommended by facilitators of
Coalition of human Rights Group in parts of the country.
The State Coordinator Civil Rights Concern Mr Okey Onyeka announced this in Awka, while commenting on the twenty million naira community choose your project initiative of the state government.
Mr Onyeka maintained that partners in Voice of the People project V2P from other States are coming on learning visit to Anambra to know how it entrenched a governance that has given voice to the voiceless.
Mr Onyeka added that the programme which is a three year event depending on when it was introduced in a state ,started in Anambra in 2013, and has received a lot of commendations from other partners, largely due to the fact that the present administration is running an all inclusive government with the twenty million naira choose your project initiative .
In their separate speeches, some facilitators of Community Empowerment Network, Comrade Chris Onuchukwu from Ihiala , Hon Lawrence Anuruekwe form Ezinifite and Chief Goddy Eze, from Oba in Idemili South Council area, appreciated state government for harkening to the yearnings of the civil rights groups, saying that the initiative will provide lasting projects that are beneficial to the various communities.
On their parts, other facilitators added that the initiative means providing democracy dividends to the people, and has provided room for communities to take ownership of government projects in their localities.
While calling on those yet to complete their projects to expedite action, they frowned at those who are yet to start because of community leadership tussle to quit such actions in other to unite in the interest of their communities.
