Contrary to reports trending in the media that ten thousand candidates in the just concluded CBT Jamb exams in Anambra state were arrested for malpractices,

the Jamb co ordinator in the state says only seven persons were apprehended and handed over to security.
Refuting the spurious figures in an interview with the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS today in Awka, the state co ordinator Mrs Lynda Nwachukwu said it beat her imagination that some media men could concort such figures, in an examination she already assessed as being successful.
She recalled that what she told journalists that spoke with her on this was that between seven and ten persons were arrested for malpractices through out the twenty eight centres in Anambra, and wondered how such figure was arrived at.
While advising journalists to always cross check their facts, regretted the enormous damage the falsehood had caused the state, Jamb as a body and herself, who was grossly misquoted.
