Anambra State government through the Executive Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Vera Nwadinobi charged head teachers and teachers to sit up in their job as the government is not ready to condone lousy attitude to work.
She gave the charge during her routine on-the-spot assessment of primary schools in the state for the third term where she revealed that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has promised to address various challenges facing some schools, including the lack of fencing.
Some of the schools visited include State Model Nursery and Primary School, Iyiagu, Awka, Community Primary School, Okpuno and Agulu-Awka Primary School, Awka, where it was observed that some of the schools were ready for the term while others are yet to pick up as they were seen still clearing their environment and classrooms which should have been done on Monday.
The head teacher of Agulu-Awka Primary School, Mrs. Winifred Umeadi appreciated the Governor for his investment in the education sector and the Chairman ASUBEB for her hard work.
