It was a moment of grief and sober reflection as the remains of Late Nnaemeka Erasmus Okafor of Umuifedumasi, Iruobeli, Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka Council Area of Anambra State were buried at his hometown, with family members, friends, associates and other relations gathered to pay their last respect.
At a requiem mass celebrated in honour of the deceased at Saint John’s Catholic Parish Enugwu -Agidi, special prayers were offered to God for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Mr Okafor, who was said to have left good legacies by rendering services for the betterment of others.
In a homily during the mass, the Parish Priest of Saint John Parish Enugwu-Agidi, Reverend Father Anslem Otie, noted that death is a journey that awaits all mortals, and described the deceased as peaceful, humble and God-fearing.
On behalf of the Catholic Men Organization, Saint John’s Parish, Enugwu-Agidi, Mr Ebere Igboanugo, described the deceased as a man of good heart who treated everyone around him with love and care, praying God to give the family grace to bear the loss.
While appreciating God for the life lived and all who joined in mourning, the deceased’s elder brother, Mr Emmanuel Nnaemeka, noted that his late brother lived for others, and contributed to the development of his community.
