The ongoing construction work at Nwokedi and Edmund streets, including extensions 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Okpoko Ogbaru Council Area is in top gear, with drainage channels on both sides completed.
Work is also ongoing at nearby Sakamori, which is meant to channel flood to the River Niger.
Baring their minds on the construction works, some residents of the area, including Mr Thomas Agbala, Mrs Alice Igwe and Mr Chinecherem Igwe, who said that the road stretches from Orumba to Imo street to AP Junction and connects the Onitsha – Owerri road, lamented that it has been in a deplorable state for over twenty years.
They thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his sincerity of purpose in the once abandoned community, and calling for speedy completion of the projects.
